02 / HOW IT BECOMES REAL

Turn a chipmaker’s process target into a working exposure

Illustrative workflow: a chipmaker must choose an exposure approach that fits resolution, productivity and integration constraints.

  1. 01

    Define the pattern and process

Engineers identify feature size, overlay and process requirements. The appropriate lithography approach depends on the layer and the customer’s process flow.

  2. 02

Bring the tool into the fab

Large modules must be installed and integrated with fab automation. Operational usability and service requirements affect readiness.

  3. 03

    Expose and check the result

The customer runs qualification work to understand pattern quality and process compatibility. Validation translates equipment capability into a usable manufacturing decision.

  4. 04

Feed customer learning into the roadmap

Installed-base service and field options support continued operation. Customer constraints also inform next product requirements and validation plans.

Follow the work, step by step

Start with the customer’s process

A chipmaker needs a pattern that its process can actually manufacture. ASML supplies the lithography equipment, software and services used to transfer patterns onto wafers. Its public mission connects hardware with partners and the people who operate it. The useful question is therefore a process question: what must this layer achieve, and which exposure approach can meet that requirement? Resolution, alignment and productivity are different constraints that engineers have to consider together. The official product descriptions distinguish EUV and DUV systems, while the advanced-packaging product addresses thicker and warped wafers. An illustrative working day starts with a customer requirement, then moves to a technical target and a plan for checking the result. Signet reads the Korea opportunity through that sequence. The current packaging posting asks an expert to define customer-driven requirements and performance targets, translate them into development priorities, and lead validation plans. The candidate’s contribution lies in making the customer’s challenge specific enough for product teams to act on it.

Move from capability to evidence

A specification becomes useful when a customer qualifies the tool in a real process. The September 2026 Intel collaboration describes more than one million wafers processed through High NA work, spanning earlier certification and development as well as volume production on selected layers of Panther Lake. Those scopes matter: a cumulative technical milestone and selected-layer production describe different parts of adoption. The SK hynix announcement describes an assembled EXE:5200 B system in Icheon and its role in preparing subsequent memory processes. The two examples show customers at distinct stages. Signet’s reading is that equipment capability, installation, qualification and production insertion should each have their own evidence. The current memory-roadmap posting makes a similar distinction in the work itself. An expert analyzes device architecture, materials and process flows, compares alternative technical paths, and communicates the assumptions and validity range of a recommendation. It is an individual-contributor role with substantial technical ownership. A good explanation shows how an observation changed a product requirement or technical recommendation, while keeping the exact scope of that conclusion clear.

Close the field feedback loop

Customer support continues after a system reaches the fab. The Korea careers page describes installation, upgrades, relocation and maintenance at customer sites, alongside module-specific technical support and field application work that analyzes process results. The support product page connects customer feedback with specialists inside ASML. Today’s Korea quality and supply-chain postings show the practical work behind that relationship. A service-quality lead identifies gaps in operating processes, coordinates corrective action and coaches stakeholders. Repair operations handle cleaning, packing, materials tracking and follow-up. Supplier specialists work on process control, yield, testing and material availability. These responsibilities connect product performance with the reliability of everyday execution. Signet’s reading is that a candidate can make this loop visible with one well-chosen case: explain the initial problem, the evidence collected, the people involved and the change that followed. The company’s current demand outlook adds pressure to that work. In a May 2026 interview, the CEO described demand as supply-limited for a period. The hiring question is how a person helps technical ambition become dependable customer work.

Understand the products and their customers

Match the lithography approach to the layer

EUV and DUV address different patterning choices in a customer process. The High NA story describes a numerical aperture of 0.55 for the EXE platform, compared with 0.33 for the NXE platform. A larger aperture helps expose smaller features, while the customer still has to qualify how the tool fits its own layers. DUV includes immersion and dry systems used across a wider range of manufacturing needs. The product image here shows the NXT:2150 i, while the High NA image shows the open EXE:5000. Keeping the named system with its own image makes the portfolio easier to read. Signet’s interpretation is that the product discussion should begin with the customer’s process flow rather than a contest between two labels. The current memory role asks an expert to connect device requirements and unit processes with the whole integration flow. That connection explains why a person with deep memory expertise can shape equipment recommendations even while developing ASML-specific knowledge with colleagues after joining.

Print patterns for thicker and warped wafers

TWINSCAN XT:260 extends the product portfolio into advanced-packaging lithography. Its official page describes an i-line scanner that handles wafers up to 1.7 millimetres thick and addresses wafer warpage. The page specifies 270 wafers per hour at a dose of 340 millijoules per square centimetre, and a variable numerical aperture from 0.25 to 0.35. It also describes 400-nanometre resolution with options. These are product specifications with operating conditions, so the conditions stay attached to the claim. The investor presentation records the first shipment and revenue recognition in 2025. The current Korea packaging job covers Advanced Packaging, 3 D IC and Hybrid Bonding expertise; it asks the expert to turn customer technology challenges into product development priorities and business value. A candidate can explain how modules interact, what performance a customer needs, and how a validation plan would test that requirement. Signet reads this as a bridge between process expertise and product readiness. The XT:260’s documented function is exposure and alignment for these manufacturing applications.

Read customer adoption at its actual stage

Intel’s September 7 announcement ties High NA development to production on selected Panther Lake layers and continued preparation for later process generations. The more-than-one-million-wafer milestone covers the broader sequence of tool certification, research and development, and production. The earlier SK hynix announcement describes bringing an EXE:5200 B into its Icheon M 16 fab and assembling it for memory-production use. The installed system and the subsequent use cases have their own dates and evidence. Signet’s reading is that this is useful for interview preparation: explain what the equipment could do, what the customer tested, and which result the source actually reports. The portfolio also earns revenue from maintaining and upgrading installed equipment. This connects products to Korea work in service quality, material repair, supplier reliability and factory operations. A person in one of those seats can show a contribution to safety, quality, availability or a technical decision. The evidence should match the seat and the process, with product capability, customer outcome and the candidate’s own work kept distinct.

Read the growth story

Systems and installed equipment earn differently

ASML earns from selling lithography systems and from managing equipment already installed at customers. The January 2026 full-year release reports €32.667 billion of total net sales for 2025 under US GAAP, compared with €28.263 billion in 2024. Installed Base Management sales were €8.193 billion and are included in the total. That category covers service and field options. The split explains why customer-site work remains commercially relevant after a shipment. Signet’s reading is that revenue connects two forms of execution: delivering equipment that meets a customer’s process needs and keeping the installed base useful. The five-point chart records annual total net sales from 2021 through 2025 on the same basis. It helps the reader examine the business across several years while maintaining the difference between historical sales and the current outlook. For a candidate, the practical link is the work described in their seat. Service quality, repair accuracy, supplier availability and customer validation contribute at different points in this equipment lifecycle.

Keep orders, revenue and outlook separate

The full-year release also reports €28.035 billion of net bookings for 2025 and €38.797 billion of backlog at year end. Bookings are accepted written authorizations under the company’s definition, while backlog records orders still in the delivery sequence. They describe demand and future work separately from recognized sales. The July 15 release reports €9.326 billion of net sales in the second quarter ended June 28, 2026. It raises the full-year 2026 sales outlook to €43 billion to €45 billion, with a gross-margin outlook of 54% to 56%. The earlier January outlook is therefore historical. The investor presentation also restates a possible 2030 sales opportunity of €44 billion to €60 billion under its scenarios. That is a scenario range with a different horizon. Signet reads the figures as separate questions: what was sold, which orders were accepted, what remains to deliver and what the company expects under its assumptions. A candidate discussing the business can explain the operating implication of a figure while retaining its date and basis.

Watch execution alongside demand

A strong demand outlook gives the company more work to execute. The second-quarter release describes plans to increase equipment capacity and lists risks around customer acceptance, order changes, technology execution and export restrictions. These are the company’s stated risks and forward-looking assumptions. Signet’s interpretation is that a candidate should read demand, supply and adoption together. Customer investment can support orders while a system still needs components, installation and qualification. Regulatory changes can alter which equipment or service work may proceed. The Korea supplier and logistics postings describe capacity alignment, material availability, supplier development and escalation management. Their practical responsibilities connect to those business constraints. The expert postings connect technology progress to customer roadmaps and validation. Each seat has a different way to make an issue visible early and coordinate an action. A useful interview case explains the initial signal, the analysis and the decision made with others. It can also show how the person checked whether the change worked. The financial model becomes easier to understand when connected to this actual operating work.

The decisions behind the company

Read the people making today’s decisions

The current management team explains how ASML connects technical decisions with customers and operating work. Christophe Fouquet is President and CEO; his official biography records joining ASML in 2008 and becoming CEO in 2024. Marco Pieters is Chief Technology Officer, with a career at ASML beginning in 1999 and work across product and applications responsibilities. Jim Koonmen is Chief Customer Officer, bringing earlier experience at Brion and Cymer into the customer role. The current official board page is the basis for these titles. The Korea figure includes Choi Han-jong, named as ASML Korea representative director in September 2026 reporting. Each person is shown with a source appropriate to that role and date. Signet reads these leaders as people whose choices affect the work a candidate may enter: technology priorities, customer requirements and local execution. The profiles are most useful alongside the actual responsibilities in the current postings. A leadership title tells the reader who holds a responsibility; a posting explains the work expected from the person being hired.

Keep engineers close to the work

In a December 2025 interview, Fouquet described engineers spending too much time on meetings, paperwork and processes. The accessible introduction gives that diagnosis in his own words. It helps explain a management question behind the technology: how should people spend their time as the company grows? The current technical postings make the expected judgement concrete. A memory expert develops scenarios from evolving evidence, compares alternatives and communicates uncertainty. A packaging expert translates customer requirements into roadmap priorities and validation plans. A service-quality lead coaches stakeholders and drives corrective action. Signet’s interpretation is that technical depth needs an explanation another team can use. A candidate can choose a case in which a review, experiment or process change improved a decision, then show what they personally did. The evidence can include a test plan, risk analysis, supplier correction or a well-supported recommendation. These examples connect with the responsibilities described in the postings, while the candidate selects the example that fits their own background and the exact seat.

Connect published values with a real case

ASML publishes three values: challenge, collaborate and care. The descriptions connect questioning and refining ideas with learning across the customer and partner ecosystem, and personal responsibility for a safe environment where people can contribute. The public interview guide describes a first discussion of education, experience and motivation, followed by a discussion of drivers, ambitions and culture. It presents these as the usual process. Signet’s reading is that a candidate can make the values concrete with a decision rather than simply repeat their names. Explain the constraint you questioned, the evidence used and the colleagues or customers who changed the outcome. For an operational seat, describe how safety or quality affected the plan. For a recruiting seat, describe a hiring strategy, stakeholder decision or data-quality improvement. For a technical seat, explain the range in which a conclusion was valid and how another specialist reviewed it. The current postings have distinct experience levels, from entry-level repair and factory work to senior technical and supplier responsibilities. Preparation should follow the requirements of the selected posting and the person’s actual contribution.

Understand the Korea opportunity

Read the jobs before the company figure

The employer’s Korea location facets returned nine postings on October 8, 2026. Today’s set spans Icheon service quality, Hwaseong repair, recruiting, supplier quality, packaging, logistics and memory-roadmap work, plus two Cymer factory seats in Pyeongtaek. All nine have their own original posting and mock application. The repair seat explicitly describes a one-year contract, with a possible one-year extension depending on evaluation, while the ATS employment-type field says Full time. The contract wording in the body stays attached to the role. Entry-level factory work asks for high-school or associate education and entry-level to two years of relevant assembly experience; English is a plus. The repair seat welcomes new graduates with a relevant associate degree. These requirements differ from the senior technical seats, so the reader selects a job by its actual responsibilities and qualifications. The technical-roadmap title also carries an individual-contributor scope with technical ownership, which is useful context for a senior candidate.

Separate profile observation from company scale

ASML’s Korea careers page says the office was established in 1996 to support the first local systems. The current rendered page shows more than 2,700 employees across four sites. That is the employer’s country-level description. On October 8, the Korea-filtered public-profile view showed 1,053 associated profiles. The function facets included Engineering, IT, Operations, Sales and Customer Success; those categories can overlap and describe profile observations. The figure uses those observed functions together with a press-verified local leader. It separates a functional view from reporting relationships. The business also has a dated regional context: Korea represented 25% of 2025 net system sales on a ship-to-location basis in the official investor chart. Reporting on the first two quarters of 2026 gives 45% and 43% on the system-sales denominator. These figures describe equipment shipped to a region, while installed-base management belongs to a separate revenue category. Signet’s reading is that Korea combines customer-facing technical work with the supply, operational and people functions needed to execute it. The current postings provide an additional view of work being hired today.

Connect the campus with the exact seat

The Hwaseong campus opened in November 2025 after the reported 240-billion-won investment program, combining repair, reuse and training functions. February 2026 reporting describes the Global Training Center Korea with DUV and EUV equipment, modules and cleanroom space. Its stated annual capacity of about 4,000 trainees includes ASML engineers and customers. Capacity is the facility’s training capability. This gives the current repair and service roles a practical local setting. The senior supplier-quality seat asks for 10 to 20 years of relevant experience, optics or ceramics manufacturing experience, and fluent English and Korean. Logistics asks for 7 to 12 years and supplier-management experience, with Black Belt certification preferred. Recruiting asks for more than ten years across HR and Talent Acquisition, including at least five years of multinational recruiting, and fluent English. The factory line manager asks for fifteen or more years with laser, scanner or complex semiconductor equipment and bilingual fluency. The packaging expert asks for more than five years in process integration; the memory expert asks for a relevant master’s or doctorate and demonstrated technical experience. These are distinct paths into the company. Signet suggests preparing a case that shows the requirement most central to the selected seat, such as a validated technical recommendation, supplier improvement, repair process or hiring decision.

More context on what comes next

Read the completed year on its own basis

The January 28, 2026 release closes the previous year with €32.667 billion in total net sales. The investor deck places the first XT:260 shipment and revenue recognition in 2025. These facts connect the equipment business with its newer packaging application, while installed-base work remains part of the overall sales model. Signet’s reading is that the reader can trace a product milestone to the work needed after delivery: customer validation, field operation and the materials or suppliers that support it. The annual chart remains a record of recognized sales. The figures for orders and backlog have their own place alongside it.

Follow the updated outlook as a forecast

The July 15 second-quarter release raises the 2026 sales outlook to €43 billion to €45 billion and describes capacity expansion plans. The result period ended June 28. The outlook reflects the company’s view at publication and the assumptions stated with it. Korea’s second-quarter share is reported as 43% of net system sales, preserving the equipment denominator. Signet’s interpretation is that higher demand also makes supply reliability, quality and delivery decisions worth examining. The current Korea jobs name that execution directly through supplier development, repair follow-up, service quality and technical recommendations. A candidate can connect their experience to one of those responsibilities with a specific case.

Read the customer milestone with its scope

The September 7 Intel collaboration describes High NA use on selected Panther Lake layers and more than one million wafers processed across certification, development and production work. It also discusses later technology preparation. The announcement supplies a concrete customer milestone, with the scope of each statement kept intact. Today’s October 8 Korea snapshot adds nine current hiring opportunities to that business picture. Signet suggests watching how customer requirements become testable performance targets, how installed equipment receives support and how suppliers prepare for changing demand. Those are questions a candidate can explore through the company’s products and their own evidence. The company page then lets the reader choose a seat and read its current original conditions.
