Responsibilities
- Sets the 1 to 3 year technical strategy and direction for the realtime data platform.
- Leads a multi-year rebuild of the core data platform toward petabyte-scale realtime processing.
- Partners with product teams to power data-driven features like AI apps and realtime dashboards.
- Grows and structures the engineering org, including hiring and mentoring managers and ICs.
- Acts as a trusted data and AI advisor to product and engineering teams.
What you need
- Has 8+ years in data or software engineering, including 3+ years in leadership.
- Has managed and grown an engineering team of 10 or more.
- Has set a technical strategy and driven it to a real business outcome.
- Has deep knowledge of distributed data processing like Spark and Databricks, and streaming like Kafka.
- Knows data storage and serving technologies like CubeJS, ElasticSearch, and Clickhouse well.
- Is comfortable with monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Good to have
- Has worked in the financial domain.
- Has designed data processing patterns for a lakehouse architecture hands-on.
- Quickly evaluates new technologies and feeds them into architecture decisions.
- Works comfortably in complex environments.
