Responsibilities
- Manage and coach engineers through regular feedback, performance reviews and career development.
- Build a team culture centered on ownership, quality and continuous improvement.
- Set technical direction for the systems that process transactions and design architecture together with senior and staff engineers.
- Keep the bar high for system design, code quality, testing and operational excellence.
- Evolve the platform and infrastructure to cut operational load and boost developer productivity.
- Partner with product, operations, and fellow engineering leaders so execution stays aligned with business priorities.
What you need
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years directly managing engineers.
- Has an undergraduate background in a technical field such as computer science or software engineering.
- Solid backend experience in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go or Python.
- Experience designing and running large scale, distributed production systems.
- Experience with event driven and streaming architecture such as Kafka.
- Cloud experience running containerized workloads on GCP or AWS with Docker and Kubernetes.
Good to have
- Background in fintech, payments or another regulated financial domain is a plus.
- Deep comfort with Java or Kotlin on Spring or Spring Boot is a plus.
- Experience leading teams responsible for high availability, low latency systems is a plus.
