Responsibilities
- Sets the strategic direction for Onboarding and FinCrime Operations and drives it through to execution.
- Builds and grows a globally distributed team, scaling headcount to match business growth.
- Sets the team's location and staffing strategy, balancing round-the-clock coverage, customer experience, and cost.
- Builds a repeatable, scalable operating rhythm with clear OKRs.
- Works with Risk Product and Engineering to keep raising the bar on procedures, playbooks, control frameworks, and documentation quality.
- Drives the shift to AI-powered ways of working across Onboarding and FinCrime Operations.
What you need
- Has led large, multi-country operations teams inside a regulated financial services or payments company, at a senior level.
- Knows AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC, transaction monitoring, and investigation controls well, and how they play out in first-line operations.
- Has scaled FinCrime or Onboarding Operations across several product lines and countries, building consistent performance globally.
- Has delivered automation or AI-led change inside an operations team, or clearly has the strategic and technical chops to lead it.
- Makes strong commercial and analytical calls, thinking in terms of return on investment, scalability, and unit economics.
- Has driven results across Operations, Product, and Risk teams without holding formal authority over all of them.
Good to have
- Has worked in cross-border payments, across multiple entities and licensing regimes.
- Comfortable with a highly technical, API-first product.
- Has worked with Risk Product and Data teams to evolve tools and rules.
- Holds a relevant certification such as CAMS, ICA, or ACAMs.
- Comes from a top-tier consulting or operator-investor background.
