Responsibilities
- Designs and builds backend systems that power the card issuance and expense management product.
- Contributes to the architecture and long-term technical direction of backend systems.
- Owns delivery of new features and improvements from design through production.
- Writes high-quality, testable code with an eye on reliability and maintainability.
- Upholds engineering best practices such as observability and API design.
- Collaborates with product, infrastructure, and design teams and mentors other engineers.
What you need
- Holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering or Computer Science.
- Has 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Has built and shipped backend systems and APIs directly in production environments.
- Has strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
- Is proficient in at least one backend language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
- Understands REST API design and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Has experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
Good to have
- Is familiar with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk.
