Responsibilities
- Operate PostgreSQL and Redis/Redis Cluster availability, replication, failover, backup and disaster recovery.
- Meet Korean residency and security requirements for backups, replicas and snapshots.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, access and operations with scripts, software and IaC.
- Improve monitoring, alerts, schema, indexes, queries, performance and incident diagnosis.
- Strengthen privileged access, approvals, audit evidence and documentation; improve on-call readiness with local/global teams.
What you need
- 4+ years administering production relational databases and live transactional workloads.
- Strong PostgreSQL HA, replication and clustering; Patroni, pgpool-II, PgBouncer or similar; Redis/Redis Cluster administration.
- Public-cloud database operations; Google Cloud preferred.
- Linux, shell and at least one programming language; analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Business English, professional Korean, ownership and documentation.
- Based in Seoul; primarily Google Cloud with a secondary AWS footprint.
Good to have
- Distributed databases, Kafka, Elasticsearch or ClickHouse; Terraform/Ansible or similar IaC.
- Database containers/Kubernetes and building or owning a database environment from scratch.
- Korean banking, payments or licensed fintech; residency, network separation, access and audit requirements.
- Regulatory examinations and external audits.
