Responsibilities
- Owns the call on which APAC markets Airwallex enters next, sizing the opportunity behind each one.
- Designs the entry model per market, covering the licensing route, entity structure, and commercial approach.
- Teams up with Product and Engineering to shape a roadmap that reflects what regulators and licenses actually require market by market.
- Partners with executives to frame and present decisions on market priority, launch readiness, and investment.
- Builds AI-assisted tools and templates, such as license mapping and competitor dashboards, to systematize expansion work.
- Runs the governance process for go or no-go launch decisions, covering cross-functional sign-off, risk review, and mitigation plans.
What you need
- Has 5 to 8 years in top-tier strategy consulting, financial regulatory law, or fintech and payments strategy roles, with exposure to market-entry or licensing projects.
- Has owned complex, multi-stakeholder programs end to end, from planning through execution and executive updates.
- Has worked on regulatory or licensing matters in financial services, such as payments, e-money, banking, or card issuing.
- Uses AI tools for day-to-day work like regulatory research or license mapping and knows when results need human verification.
Good to have
- Has led new market launches or license applications in APAC for a fintech or payments company.
- Has a mixed background spanning consulting and an in-house role, or legal and commercial work.
- Has worked inside a CEO office or a strategy and operations team handling company-wide initiatives.
