Responsibilities
- Build metrics, logs, traces, events, alerts, dashboards and service-health platforms.
- Set telemetry, instrumentation, SLO/SLI, service ownership and readiness standards.
- Improve incident detection, diagnosis, response, dependency visibility and runbooks.
- Build self-service tools and improve multi-region scalability, performance and cost.
- Partner across engineering, review designs and code, respond to incidents and mentor engineers.
What you need
- 5+ years of professional software engineering, building and operating production systems.
- Strong Go, Java, Python, Kotlin or another backend language and scaled distributed-systems experience.
- Practical observability tools and knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, alerts, SLOs/SLIs and incident management.
- Cloud-native experience with Kubernetes, containers and AWS, GCP or Azure. Based in Singapore or South Korea; collaborate across APAC/EMEA time zones.
- IaC and automated delivery using tools such as Terraform and CI/CD; strong system design and problem solving.
- Clear collaboration with globally distributed teams and ownership of underlying system improvements.
Good to have
- Observability or internal developer platforms serving multiple teams.
- High-volume telemetry ingestion, storage, querying, retention and relevant tools such as Kafka, ClickHouse, Jaeger, Loki or Tempo.
- SRE, on-call, incident reviews, runbooks, error budgets, service meshes, Kubernetes operators or large microservices.
- Relevant bachelor’s/master’s degree or open-source contributions in observability, infrastructure or reliability.
