Responsibilities
- Triages and resolves server and network hardware tickets by priority to keep systems running reliably.
- Troubleshoots issues in Linux servers and Xen virtualization.
- Repairs physical-layer outages on servers and network equipment on-site.
- Installs and configures server racks to internal standards.
- Works rotating 24/7 shifts and on-call coverage, working with outside vendors to fix problems.
- Looks for ways to improve operations and shares metrics and progress in team meetings.
What you need
- Holds a bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science.
- Has two or more years in hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
- Understands basic IT hardware and networking concepts.
Good to have
- Has two or more years troubleshooting Linux, including firmware updates and BIOS configuration.
- Knows server hardware and components well.
