Responsibilities
- Win new major accounts and grow existing relationships across Japan's retail, CPG, and trading companies to exceed revenue targets.
- Build and execute a territory plan that identifies the highest-value opportunities.
- Lead consultative conversations with senior executives on using AI for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization, and supply chain operations.
- Coordinate internal teams across product, engineering, applied AI, and partnerships to build solutions that fit the customer's existing systems.
- Design solutions that meet customer needs while complying with Japan's personal data protection law.
What you need
- Has enterprise sales experience in Japan with exposure to retail, CPG, or trading company customers.
- Has a track record of managing complex sales processes and closing strategic deals.
- Can build consensus across merchandising, supply chain, digital, and marketing teams with multiple budget holders.
- Has consistently exceeded revenue targets despite seasonal retail cycles and multi-step trading company decision processes.
Good to have
- 8+ years of relevant experience is a plus.
- A hands-on attitude that brings order to messy situations is a plus.
- A strategic, analytical approach combined with patient relationship building is a plus.
- A belief that AI systems should be built safely and responsibly is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English are a plus.
