Responsibilities
- Recruit and lead team members, help them grow, and ship OEM preload projects with solid quality.
- Set team goals, prioritize the work, and keep track of team health.
- Align schedules with project managers, hardware enablement, QA, and certification groups.
- Watch each project from kickoff through wrap-up and step in personally when issues escalate.
- Talk directly with OEMs, ODMs, and component partners to work through technical problems.
- Partner with other engineering groups such as desktop, foundations, kernel, and security to set shared methods and standards.
What you need
- Holds a bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field such as computer science or software engineering.
- Has hands-on technical experience with Linux, ideally Ubuntu or Debian.
- Has experience managing a team.
- Can communicate in both English and Chinese for work.
- Can travel to the EU, US, China, and Taiwan.
Good to have
- Has served as a tech lead setting technical direction for a team.
- Has software architecture and design experience.
- Has worked with Linux-related tools such as kernel and packaging work, containers, Kubernetes, and languages like Python, Go, or C.
- Has contributed to open-source projects.
- Has CI/CD experience.
