Responsibilities
- Set the product strategy for Japan's payroll, HR, time tracking, and add-on services.
- Work with a dedicated engineering team to turn that strategy into a real roadmap.
- Coordinate with the payroll engine, time, HRIS, and services teams to align dependencies.
- Break complex regulatory requirements into small releases and adjust based on customer feedback.
- Manage relationships with key accounts directly to confirm the product actually solves their problems.
- Work with sales, implementation, and local compliance teams so the product can scale.
What you need
- Be based in Asia so time zones and culture line up.
- Speak Japanese fluently.
- Make sound calls even when information is incomplete.
- Coordinate across multiple internal teams and outside partners.
- Understand how payroll, HR, time tracking, and compliance fit together as a whole.
Good to have
- Have hands-on experience with Japanese payroll, tax, or labor rules.
- Have built payroll systems or worked in a payroll product role.
- Have launched new products or entered new markets before.
- Have handled complex requirements with enterprise customers.
