Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a Field Engineering team of pre-sales Solutions Architects and post-sales Customer Architects.
- Support the team with onboarding help, structured training, and self-paced learning opportunities.
- Keep the technical work done before a deal closes connected to what happens after, so customers get one seamless journey.
- Drive the value of Elastic Cloud within the community and among customers.
- Share and align on key product insights across business functions.
- Build out how the team engages partners and push that plan forward to hit regional goals.
What you need
- A track record of leading and growing a Field Engineering team spanning both pre-sales and post-sales roles.
- Can clearly explain and sell what makes modern platforms and technology valuable, ideally in search, security, APM, or logging.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, architecture, and data analytics.
- Able to lead presentations for audiences of any size.
- Fluent in English and Japanese, able to travel 10 to 30 percent of the time within the region.
Good to have
- Open source experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with areas such as enterprise-scale search, big data, cloud computing, IoT, or security is a plus.
