Responsibilities
- Leads and coaches the Systems Engineering team in Japan, building a strong pre-sales function.
- Acts as the senior technical authority in-region, owning solution architecture, PoC strategy, and technical win plans for key accounts.
- Works with sales leadership to build regional strategy, pipeline, and forecasting from a technical view.
- Forges strong technical ties across enterprise accounts, hyperscalers, research institutions, and the HPC/AI community.
- Develops the partner and channel ecosystem so distributors and integrators can properly position the solution.
- Leads technical evaluations, benchmarks, and PoCs, turning complex infrastructure requirements into solutions.
What you need
- Has substantial pre-sales experience in enterprise infrastructure such as storage, data platforms, HPC, networking, or AI/ML.
- Has led people before or is ready to step into a first formal management role.
- Has technical depth in data storage, file/object protocols, Linux, virtualization, and modern AI/data pipelines.
- Has driven complex, high-value technical sales cycles in the Japanese enterprise market.
- Has relationships within Japan's enterprise, channel, and research/HPC communities.
- Is native-level in Japanese with business-level English.
Good to have
- Has experience with competitive storage/data platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell, or Weka.
- Has worked with AI/ML, GPU-accelerated computing, or large-scale HPC environments.
- Has built or scaled a pre-sales team at a high-growth or early-stage startup.
