Responsibilities
- Designs connected hardware such as cameras, access control gear, and sensors from concept through mass production.
- Shapes and refines a product design language that reflects brand principles.
- Presents concepts and design strategy to peers and key stakeholders.
- Partners with hardware engineers to prototype new concepts and lock down form, materials, finish, and packaging.
- Coordinates with overseas vendors and manufacturing partners to bring products to production.
What you need
- Has spent 5+ years as an industrial designer building consumer or enterprise electronic products.
- Can point to shipped, mass produced work through a portfolio or website.
- Is skilled with design tools including Solidworks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Creo, Keyshot, and Adobe.
- Completed a degree program in industrial design, or something closely related.
- Can travel abroad for roughly 15% of total working time.
Good to have
- Familiarity with cameras, environmental sensors, control systems, or network hardware is a plus.
- Startup experience shipping products on a fast timeline is a plus.
- Experience designing to IP66+ or IK08+ ratings is a plus.
