Cloudflare reached Korea as a network long before it arrived as a company. It switched on its 23rd data center, in Seoul, in 2012, and for about a decade served Korean customers from abroad, with Korean partners. By the time it set up a Korean entity in November 2022, announced that December, it already counted Korean customers such as Neowiz, Hyperconnect, Be My Friends, EJN, Team Blackbird and Radish Media, and worked with Megazone Cloud and Bespin Global. The reasons it gave were about the market itself: one of the most connected countries online, a strong startup scene, and home to large manufacturers and technology companies.
Until now we had to support Korean customers remotely. We plan to strengthen support integrated with the global organization and to set up support by industry. We have high expectations for the Korean market.

The first plan was to stop being seen as a CDN vendor. In March 2023 the first country manager, 김도균, told reporters that Koreans often saw Cloudflare only as a CDN company, set targets of ten times the customers and five times the staff, and pushed zero trust as the next product. The Asia Pacific head cited a survey that 20% of Korean companies had moved to the cloud and judged it the right moment.
The second phase: a security executive and a partner model
In September 2025 Cloudflare appointed Cho Won-kyun (조원균) country manager, a security industry executive who had run Fortinet Korea. At his first press conference he pitched security and the AI developer platform together, said Cloudflare handled more than 81 billion requests a day in Korea and blocked 350 million threats, and used PayPal's invoice automation, built in three days on the platform, as the developer example. By August 2026 the company's Korea figures had grown to about 114 billion requests and about 783 million threats a day, the office had passed 40 people, and the stated targets were large companies and financial firms, where he said cloud adoption was speeding up.
The partner-centered strategy is a consistent strategy, and we will expand the business and the organization further together with Korean partners.

The partners are concrete. Bespin Global has been a Korean distributor since 2023 and won an Asia Pacific service delivery partner award in October 2025. Etivers signed as a distributor in May 2025. Megazone Cloud was the only Korean firm among Cloudflare's partner award winners in September 2024, selling CDN, WAF, bot management and DDoS protection to enterprise, crypto, gaming and e-commerce customers. This is the channel-first model the CEO describes, applied in Seoul.
Who the customers are
Olive Young is the named Korean enterprise case, told in the products chapter. Korean coverage of the 5 December 2025 incident listed Remember, Baemin and Olive Young among the platforms affected, which shows how many Korean consumer services already sit behind Cloudflare. In the company's filings Korea is part of Asia Pacific, which produced $99.4M, or 14% of revenue, in the second quarter of 2026, about 32% more than a year earlier by Signet's arithmetic. Incident impact is distinguished from a named direct-customer case, and regional revenue from Korea revenue.
Six open roles, one revenue chain
Six roles were open for Seoul on Cloudflare's own board on 8 October 2026. Two sales seats share their responsibility framework: Senior Territory Account Executive, Korea lists 8+ years under desirable skills, while Territory Account Executive, Korea lists 3 to 5+ years under the same heading. Both list a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in that desirable section. Both own a territory plan, co-sell with partners, structure multi-year, multi-product commitments rather than single-product deals, and stay through onboarding and the first renewal. The Customer Engineer, Korea, based in Seoul or Singapore, is the technical partner to those sellers, carries its own quota and reports to a Customer Engineering Leader. The Senior Professional Services Engineer is a forward deployed engineer placed inside a customer's team, requiring 15+ years in a customer-facing technical role and enterprise experience in APJC, ideally Korea. The last two, VoidZero Developer Relations Engineer and VoidZero Engineer, belong to the team behind Vite and list Seoul as one of five possible locations.
Read together, the first hires are for depth in accounts the office already reaches. The sellers turn a bot or CDN deal into a platform contract with a partner, the customer engineer proves it technically, and the embedded engineer makes it work inside a large, often regulated Korean enterprise. The VoidZero seats are different work: building and teaching open-source developer tools from Seoul.
For the worry that Seoul is a satellite: the office is young, set up in 2022, and global choices such as the May 2026 cut were made at the top. Against that, Seoul has run a data center since 2012, the company reported more than 40 people in the Korea office in August 2026, and the company is hiring for sales, technical validation and post-sale delivery at once. The two sales seats sit in a department the board labels Mid Market, so ask which customers the territory covers and how quota is set.
