Responsibilities
- Act as a technical advisor that large customers trust, handling network security and performance issues.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with customers, including DDoS, firewall rules, SSL/TLS, and network configuration.
- Write and maintain internal and customer facing knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
- Compare traffic signals such as IP addresses, cookies, HTTP headers, and JavaScript fingerprints to tell good traffic from malicious traffic.
- Advise customers on filtering malicious traffic using tools such as Magic Transit, firewall rules, WAF, and IP reputation lists.
- Use generative AI and automation to speed up log analysis, root cause work, and customer response.
What you need
- 4+ years as a network security engineer or technical support engineer, handling networking and web security products.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to explain complex ideas simply to customers.
- Solid understanding of network protocols such as DNS, HTTP/S, BGP, and TCP/IP, including anycast routing.
- Experience resolving network connectivity issues, BGP routing, GRE tunnels, and packet capture analysis.
- Comfortable with command line tools such as curl, dig, traceroute, openssl, and git.
- Can write scripts in Bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
Good to have
- Experience installing and configuring web servers such as Apache, Nginx, Caddy, or IIS.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL.
- Holds a bachelor's in computer science or cybersecurity, or has gained the same level of skill another way.
- Holds security certifications like CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, or GCFE.
