Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders across an assigned unit in Japan to hit shared people goals.
- Act as the first point of contact in Japan when employee or manager issues get escalated.
- Coach managers to set clear expectations and give regular feedback.
- Review employee concerns or conflicts and step in to mediate when needed.
- Track Japanese labor law and shape company policy and manager guidance around it.
- Manage one or more direct reports while improving HR processes.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field plus 8 or more years of HR experience.
- Comfortable working in both Japanese and English.
- Solid grasp of Japanese employment law, applied to real HR situations.
Good to have
- Experience at a fast growing tech company is a plus.
- Relevant HR certifications are a plus.
