Responsibilities
- Hire and coach the Applied AI Architect team to build strong technical capability.
- Define and continuously refine the Applied AI Architecture strategy and operating model for Japan.
- Work with sales leadership to prioritize accounts and allocate technical resources.
- Ensure team members serve as the primary technical advisors for their accounts, owning account plans and adoption progress.
- Build trusted relationships with executive-level stakeholders and step in as an executive technical sponsor when needed.
- Mobilize deployment, engineering, research, security, and legal teams to clear blockers and deliver a smooth customer experience.
What you need
- Have deep technical understanding of modern AI systems, frontier models, agentic applications, and cloud architecture.
- Have 10 or more years working in customer-facing technical positions, for example technical account leadership, solutions engineering, or solutions architecture.
- Have 4+ years of management experience hiring and coaching customer-facing technical teams.
- Have outstanding presentation and communication skills that build credibility with CTOs, CIOs, CISOs, and boards.
- Be able to lead across Japan from Tokyo, adapting your approach to different industries, cultures, and regulatory environments.
Good to have
- Having guided large organizations from technical evaluation through production adoption and steady usage is a plus.
- Strong architectural judgment on when to go deep personally, delegate to the team, or bring in specialists is a plus.
