Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of forward deployed engineers working directly with customers.
- Own both technical and business outcomes for high stakes, ambiguous customer projects end to end.
- Turn field learnings into tools, playbooks, and input for the product roadmap.
- Catch early warning signs of trouble and raise them quickly when needed.
- Give direct, practical feedback to help team members grow.
- Design how the team is staffed so it can grow without becoming harder to manage.
What you need
- Eight or more years in engineering or technical delivery, with two or more years managing a customer facing engineering team.
- A record of leading high pressure technical projects from early build to production.
- Ability to write and review production grade code on both frontend and backend.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English, enough to interview and work in either language.
Good to have
- Skill at simplifying complex problems and making fast, sound calls under pressure.
- Comfort moving quickly in uncertain, changing situations.
- Ability to turn field experience into sharp feedback for product and research teams.
