Responsibilities
- Build and evolve detection and response capabilities across OpenAI's infrastructure, products, and research environments.
- Engineer detection pipelines, including rule lifecycle management, quality measurement, tuning, and safe rollout.
- Automate response and investigation work such as triage, enrichment, containment, and evidence capture to cut down repetitive work.
- Work with security and infrastructure teams so new systems launch with the right telemetry, threat models, and response playbooks.
- Define detection and response requirements across endpoints, identity, SaaS, cloud, and Kubernetes, and find gaps.
- Evaluate and respond to new security concerns in a frontier AI lab environment.
What you need
- Has hands-on experience in threat detection or incident response.
- Understands modern adversary techniques and can translate them into detection strategies.
- Thinks in terms of threat modeling, anticipating what could go wrong in new systems.
- Has experience building detections in Kubernetes or containerized environments.
- Has experience with major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI.
- Communicates clearly and collaborates well across teams.
