Responsibilities
- Lead SSD hardware design from schematics through component selection and layout review to mass production.
- Design and run interoperability testing between server and storage systems and SSDs to confirm reliable integration.
- Balance trade-offs among mechanical, thermal, power, and signal-integrity limits system-wide.
- Work with diagnostics engineers and manufacturing partners to root-cause hardware issues and field escalations.
- Build Python or Bash automation tools to scale validation work.
What you need
- Seven-plus years designing hardware boards, covering schematic capture, PCB layout checks, and picking components.
- Able to design and validate hardware down to the electrical, protocol, and functional layers, working with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen5/Gen6, DDR, NAND, SPI, and I2C.
- Comfortable running high-speed oscilloscopes, differential probes, and protocol analyzers to track down the root of a hardware fault.
- Fluent communication in Mandarin and English to work with global engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
- Based in and working from the Taiwan office.
