Responsibilities
- Works directly with Taiwan based JDM/ODM partners, SSD suppliers, and customers to trace PCIe and NVMe system issues to their root cause and fix them.
- Owns PCIe Gen5/Gen6 and NVMe system level issues end to end, leading root cause analysis and resolution.
- Builds and drives PCIe, NVMe, and SMBus validation plans from early chip bring up through ongoing regression testing.
- Improves issue handling and hardware validation workflows using Python scripting and automation tools.
- Works independently across time zones to catch problems early and mentors junior engineers.
What you need
- Has 7+ years of debugging and root cause analysis experience across host, PCIe, and CXL interfaces in enterprise server or SSD environments.
- Has hands on experience validating PCIe Gen5/Gen6 protocols directly.
- Is experienced with tools such as PCIe protocol analyzers, exercisers, and jammers, along with I2C/SMBus equipment and Python automation running on Linux.
- Can debug across hardware and firmware, covering NVMe features, SSD firmware behavior, and PCIe LTSSM states.
- Can communicate in both Mandarin and English with Taiwan based ODM/JDM partners and suppliers.
- Works on site from the Taiwan office.
