Responsibilities
- Works directly inside supplier processes to find ways to cut cost, shorten lead time and raise quality.
- Runs on site audits to find the root cause of supplier quality problems.
- Assesses supplier capabilities and helps them meet engineering and operational priorities.
- Gives suppliers technical guidance on part specs, manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Tracks supplier performance on delivery, quality and cost, and drives corrective action plans.
- Helps suppliers meet quality and delivery requirements when new products are introduced.
What you need
- Has 7+ years in a manufacturing or manufacturing engineering environment.
- Can read and explain 2D drawings using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Holds a master's degree in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Has root cause and failure analysis problem solving skills.
- Can travel to domestic and international suppliers about half the time.
