Responsibilities
- Sits with customers on site to learn how their communications and AI use cases work and where integration snags are.
- Builds and ships things like AI voice assistants, Telnyx API integrations, and WebRTC setups.
- Runs open weight and self hosted models in customer environments and manages usage and cost through a gateway.
- Sets up the monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting a live system needs.
- Carries projects from an early build through to a stable production launch.
- Feeds what's learned in the field back to product and engineering teams.
What you need
- Holds a CS degree or has comparable experience.
- Has spent 3+ years building and running software that real users depended on.
- Can work across a few of Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and Go.
- Has deployed and run containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
- Can discuss with customer engineers and present to executives in English, and ideally Japanese too.
- Is based in Japan or ready to relocate there and can legally work in the country.
Good to have
- Has worked on AI voice assistants, speech recognition, or LLM based chat products.
- Has built evaluation material for a specific use case.
- Has run an LLM gateway in production.
